Beschreibung

Made in the late 1940s by Gibson Kalamazoo (USA), with its art deco style body this was considered an entry level or student model during the lap steel craze of the 1940s and 1950s. It was quickly adopted by Western Swing and Hawaiian players all over the world and understandably so. The P-90 style pickup delivers a wide variety of tones with plenty of output, the electronics work flawlessly (the output jack was resoldered). Originally sold by Matt Umanov Guitars in New York City, this steel came to me via Max Laesser. The tuners and knobs were replaced decades ago and that was a good idea – they work. The original tuners always fall apart after a couple of decades. BTW: The knobs are from a vintage Gibson Les Paul. 22-1/2" scale, width of nut is 2 1/4 in. (57 mm.). It is set up to C6 tuning with halfrounds and sold in its original canvas bag. This instrument has seen a lot of use (it's over 70 years old for chrissakes), is in good working condition and sounds like a Bob Wills record. They just don't make'em like that no more.
