Back in 2010 I walked into Europe's premier guitar shop, Gitarren Total in Zurich, Switzerland to get my Bassman amp serviced by top tech Carlo Milan. While discussing tube replacements I said to Carlo «isn't it a pity that no one makes a 40-Watt silverface amp with a 15-inch speaker, long reverb tank and harmonic vibrato? You know, like a mix between a Standel and a vintage Fender with extra features and endless clean headroom?» Carlo just pointed to one corner in his workshop and there it was, the Fat Bastard prototype with all the above features. Wow! A couple of months later I showed up with a selection of my guitars and pedals. In the amp room there were three of these amps, each with a different speaker.

Instead of the Jensen I went for this one with the Weber Alnico 15" which (like a JBL D-130 in top condition) gives you all the tones between Chet Atkins, T-Bone Walker and Ry Cooder. Deep and yet controllable low lows, totally neutral mids (none of that mushy high gain mud) and silky smooth, pretty top end, 45W push-pull power amp with two 6L6WGC tubes, surfy reverb and gorgeous harmonic vibrato . You won't believe your ears. And it's a joy to play pedal and lap steel through this. A fine, 100 % hand made custom boutique amp if there ever was one.

These are not in production anymore. Retail price new was 4'750 $. The amp was used in the studio and on the road with Stephan Eicher. It is well serviced and in top condition with a few minor battle scars. Classic footswitch and generic SKB case with brake wheels included.
